Supplier Code of Conduct

Lakeside Bioscience (“Lakeside Bioscience”) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of product quality, safety, and business integrity. We strive to ensure that working conditions within our supply chain are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that our processes are environmentally friendly and sustainable. This SUPPLIER CODE OF CONDUCT outlines the basic requirements for our suppliers of goods and services regarding their responsibilities towards their stakeholders and the environment.

Legal Compliance

  • Adherence to Laws: Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Counterfeit Parts Prevention: Suppliers must develop, implement, and maintain methods and processes to minimize the risk of introducing counterfeit parts and materials into deliverable products. Effective processes should be in place to detect, quarantine, and report counterfeit parts and materials to the relevant customer and/or authorities.
  • Accurate Documentation: Suppliers must accurately record, maintain, and report business documentation, including financial accounts, quality reports, time recording, expense reports, and submissions to customers and regulatory authorities, in accordance with applicable law and generally accepted accounting principles.

Labor and Human Rights

  • Respect and Dignity: Suppliers must respect the personal dignity, privacy, and human rights of each individual.
  • No Forced Labor: Suppliers must not use forced or involuntary labor.
  • Equal Opportunity: Suppliers must uphold equal opportunities and treatment of employees regardless of skin color, nationality, race, disabilities, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, gender, or social background.
  • Fair Treatment: Suppliers must not tolerate any unacceptable treatment of employees, such as mental cruelty, sexual harassment, or discrimination.
  • Compensation and Working Hours: Suppliers must honor the right to reasonable compensation and guarantee the applicable national statutory minimum wage. They must also respect the maximum number of working hours determined by applicable laws.
  • Freedom of Association: Suppliers must acknowledge, as far as legally possible, the right of employees to free association and must neither favor nor discriminate against members of employee organizations or trade unions.
  • No Child Labor: Suppliers must not employ workers under the age of 16 years.

Corruption, Extortion, Bribery

  • Zero Tolerance: Suppliers must tolerate no form of corruption, extortion, or bribery.
  • No Inducements: Suppliers must not offer or accept any gift, loan, fee, reward, or other advantage as an inducement to do something which is dishonest, illegal, or a breach of trust.

Health and Safety

  • Employee Welfare: Suppliers must take responsibility for the health and safety of their employees.
  • Training and Education: Suppliers must provide training and ensure that employees are educated on health and safety issues.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Management: Suppliers must establish reasonable occupational health and safety management rules, control hazards, and take the best reasonably possible precautionary measures against accidents and occupational diseases.

Environment

  • Environmental Compliance: Suppliers must comply with all applicable statutory and international standards of environmental protection.
  • Pollution Minimization: Suppliers must minimize environmental pollution and make continuous improvements in environmental protection.
  • Waste Reduction: Suppliers must avoid or continuously reduce all forms of waste.

Supply Chain

  • Promotion of Compliance: Suppliers must promote compliance with the principles of this Code of Conduct within their own operations and among their suppliers.
  • Supplier Selection: Suppliers must consider compliance with these principles when selecting their own suppliers.
  • Conflict-Free Sourcing: Suppliers must implement a conflict-free sourcing policy to ensure that so-called “conflict minerals” are not used by their suppliers and sub-suppliers throughout the entire supply chain.
